Situated 105 km from Coimbatore this hill station is also called as the queen of hill stations. This hill station of India is in Nilgiri range which has highest peak as Doddabetta, which is at a height of 2623 metres.

The presence of numerous tea estates infact made Ooty famous. Big mountains, dense forest, grasslands and a lot of tea gardens make Ooty a must visit.

[b]Taj Mahal[/b] is one of the eight wonders of the world and its architectural beauty was never been matched by any other building of the world. [b]Taj mahal [/b]is built by only white marble. The beauty of Taj Mahal during down and sunset is beyond description and people are stunned by its beauty in these times. It glows in full moon night and is a treat to eyes.

The [b]Taj Mahal[/b] stands on a raised, square platform (186 x 186 feet) with its four corners truncated, forming an unequal octagon. The architectural design uses the interlocking arabesque concept, in which each element stands on its own and perfectly integrates with the main structure.

The [b]Taj mahal [/b]was built by Mughal emperor Shah Jahan who got this piece of art made in memory of his wife Arjumand Bano Begum, popularly known as Mumtaz Mahal, who died in AH 1040 (AD 1630). Her last wish to her husband was to build a tomb for her memory and the tomb should be as such that people could never see such thing before.
